North Shore Bank is a locally-owned and managed, independent, community bank that has been operating in the Duluth area for over 100 years! North Shore Bank is seeking an Investment Assistant to join our Investments and Trust team! The individual in this role will perform operational duties related to daily investment functions and provide general support to the investment officers. The Investment assistant will be expected to maximize efficiency, proactively identify/correct discrepancies and complete transactions in a consistent and high-quality manner. Responsibilities:

  • Execute and settle mutual fund trades according to trading schedule and/or as directed by clients and staff. Maintain department trading calendar.
  • Prepare instructions for incoming transfers and follow progress to ensure assets are received in a timely fashion. Prepare and complete transfers for outgoing mutual funds.
  • Asset set-up for new marketable securities and unique assets. Responsible for incoming cost basis and acquisition date reporting including date of death cost basis adjustments.
  • Provide purchase and sale reports to staff and track signoff. Supply requested reports to Investment officers as scheduled or upon request. Update market price and performance spreadsheets for department.
  • Develop and maintain the skills necessary to independently perform functions associated with asset disbursements and receipts.
  • Projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
  • Desire and ability to independently perform operational functions in our investment area. Preferred knowledge and experience may include: strong operational background, understanding of various asset types, responsibility with different account structures and other wealth management related topics.
