Brenda’s 20+ years of banking experience is merely the tip of the iceberg when you also consider her many professional achievements. She is a graduate of the University of Washington Electronic Payments Institute, the Minnesota Bankers Commercial Lending School , the University of Wisconsin ’s Graduate School of Banking, the Cannon Trust School , the Leadership Duluth program and she is an Accredited ACH Professional (AAP). Past Board and Financial Committee member of the Girl Scouts and Program of Promise. A great deal of credit for the success of North Shore Private Banking belongs squarely with Brenda whose own extensive knowledge and highly personalized style of customer service were the very cornerstones that the division was built upon.
Jeff started with North Shore Bank in 1984 and has been in the Trust Division since 1991. A graduate of the University of Minnesota-Duluth, the Cannon Trust School, the Cannon Trust Investments School, he is a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) as well as a Certified Public Accountant -inactive. Jeff has devoted time to numerous non-profit and professional organizations such as the Voyageurs Area Council Boy Scouts of America and the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra Board. Jeff also sings with the Duluth Superior Symphony Chorus.
Bob is a graduate of the University of Minnesota-Duluth and has completed numerous employee benefit courses and certifications through the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. With over 25 years of experience Bob is perhaps the area’s premiere employee benefit plans administrator. Among Bob’s professional memberships are the International Foundation of Employee Benefits Plans. Bob takes great pride in acknowledging that many of his new client referrals come from satisfied current customers and area employee benefit legal and accounting professionals. Bob’s 25+ years of involvement with the Duluth Salvation Army and the Duluth Lion’s Club are a reflection of his sense of loyalty and commitment.
Jena began her banking career with North Shore as a part time teller back in 1990 and quickly rose to the position of Branch Supervisor. It was her attention to detail and genuine interest in her customers’ financial well-being that made her transition in 1996 to an expanding Investments & Trust division such a natural fit. As Private Banking Manager, Jena is able to tap into her broad range of banking knowledge to give her clients a truly well rounded Wealth Management experience. Jena is a graduate of the University of Minnesota-Duluth, the ABA National Graduate Trust School, and is a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA). Jena’s involvement in various community and non-profit organizations includes serving in many capacities as a board member of St. Ann’s Residence and the Duluth Superior Eco Rotary, a past board member of the Arrowhead Estate Planning Council and on the Lutheran Social Services Advisory Board.
Pat has been with North Shore for over 30 years and has spent the most of her career in Trust Operations. Areas of responsibility include overseeing client accounting services, investment statements, and data processing. Pat has been involved with The John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon and is currently a member of the Duluth Lions Club. When opportunities for Pat lend her operational background to problem solving for her co-workers and their clients, she attains one of her greatest levels of job satisfaction.
Jane is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s School of Business and has been with North Shore’s Trust division since 1992. Jane is the manager of NSI&T’s Investment Department where she specializes in portfolio management, portfolio modeling and investment performance measurement. Jane enjoys working with the administrators to create portfolios that will meet the client’s varied financial goals.
Karol is a University of Minnesota-Duluth graduate, is a Certified IRA Services Professional (CISP), and holds a certificate in Retirement Plans. When she joined NSI&T in 1996, Karol brought with her 14 years of Trust and Employee Benefit Operations experience. Karol is a member of the Institute of Certified Bankers, the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, and the Arrowhead Estate Planning Council. Karol enjoys helping her clients plan for their financial needs both during their working careers and after retirement.
Tim is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago, with a Master of Arts degree in Economics and also a graduate of the ABA Trust Graduate School. Prior to joining North Shore Investments & Trust in 2002, Tim’s extensive professional background included serving as a stock analyst for a hedge fund, a trust portfolio manager, and as an economist and futures analyst for the Chicago Board of Trade. Tim devotes time to the Boy Scouts of America and the Duluth Superior Alpine Club and teaches at the University of Minnesota Duluth and the University of Wisconsin Superior. Tim is proud to say that he works for his clients with only their best interest in mind.
Jeff Cooper joined North Shore Bank in 2004, shortly after graduating from the University of Minnesota-Duluth with a Bachelor of Economics degree. He is a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) and a graduate of the ABA National Trust and National Graduate Trust School. Jeff takes great pride in understanding the needs of each and every one of his clients, and strives to provide an enjoyable experience while accomplishing their financial objectives. Jeff serves on the board of directors for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northland and receives great satisfaction from his participation in the development of our area’s youth.
Samantha is a graduate of the Duluth Business University, with an Associates degree in Business Administration. She joined North Shore Bank in 2004 and is responsible for the administration of personal trusts, conservatorships, estates, IRAs and investment management accounts. Samantha is a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) and a graduate of the ABA National Trust School and ABA Graduate Trust School. She also serves as Treasurer and board member on the Duluth Edison Charter School Legacy Foundation board.
Matt is a summa cum laude graduate from The College of St. Scholastica having received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management & Accounting. In 2014, Matt successfully completed Boston University’s Certified Financial Planning Program. Matt’s banking career started in 2005, and he joined North Shore Bank in 2007. Matt provides an exceptional wealth management experience to each of his clients by using his depth of knowledge in all the various Retail, Commercial and Investment services North Shore has to offer.
Jacob is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Duluth, graduating with a degree in Bachelor of Business Administration in 2009. Shortly after graduating, he joined North Shore Bank and has held positions within the bank including Retail Banker, Assistant Financial Manager and Trust Operations Risk Manager. In addition to his current duties as a Private Banking Executive, Jacob continues to manage the risk of the Trust department's Unique Asset portfolio and is certified as an Accredited ACH Professional (AAP).
Tim is a graduate of the University of Minnesota-Duluth, with a Bachelor of Accounting degree and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with emphasis in finance. He joined North Shore Trust in 2014 and administers personal trusts, investment accounts, guardianships and estates. Prior to joining the Trust department, Tim held a senior analyst position in commercial lending. He also has experience in corporate tax as a staff accountant for a publically traded company, and investment and financial planning as a financial advisor. He is a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) and a graduate of the Cannon Trust School, as well as a Certified Public Accountant.
Lisa is a graduate of Macalester College in St. Paul with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with an emphasis in Accounting. She has over 30 years of professional experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining North Shore Investments & Trust, Lisa worked as a Senior Trust Administrator for a nationwide financial services company. Lisa also has experience in financial planning as a Wealth Management Specialist. She joined North Shore Investments & Trust in 2015 and administers personal trusts, IRAs, investment management accounts, and estates.
Tania has been with North Shore, in various capacities, since 1997, and in her current position she provides support to Private Banking and Investments & Trust client relationships. Because of Tania’s extensive training she is a knowledgeable resource for our clients.
Denise M Heidman, CIS
Denise is a Certified IRA Specialist I (CIS) with over 15 years experience in Trust. Denise has assisted in the administration of a variety of Individual Retirement Accounts. She also has experience assisting with the administration of 401(k) Plans along with investment management accounts. She is instrumental in the day to day operations of account administration. The assistance and support Denise provides allows the executives the opportunity to focus on client relationships.

Susan joined North Shore Investments & Trust in 2003, some of her many responsibilities include, but are not limited to, booklet assembly, supply orders, account opening assistance, tracking and special projects as well as her regular administrative duties.
Trust Investment Specialist
Vladimir is a University of Minnesota-Duluth graduate with a degree in Business Administration with emphasis in management and finance. He joined North Shore Bank in 2011and has served in various capacities from teller to retail lender. Vladimir joined North Shore Investments & Trust in 2017. His responsibilities include placing mutual fund trades, investing employer and employee contributions for retirement plans, transferring assets in and out of accounts, check processing and bill paying for clients, and other investment related duties.
Trust Client Specialist
Aili is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Superior with a degree in Professional Studies. Aili joined North Shore Bank in 2012 and currently assists on the administration of personal trusts, guardianships, estates and investment management accounts.
Sherry has been with North Shore Bank since 2016, most recently joining our Trust division in 2017. She is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, Duluth and brings with her a diverse background of experience. Sherry’s attention to detail and passion for working with others has enabled her to become a valuable resource while supporting account administration for personal trusts, guardianships, estates, IRA’s and investment accounts.
Josh is a graduate of the University of Minnesota-Duluth, with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree in Finance. He started as a teller with North Shore Bank after graduating in the spring of 2017. Currently Josh is a Trust Assistant with North Shore Investment & Trust and focuses on the operational aspect of facilitating transactions. He previously worked as a Tax Assistant at a local accounting firm where he was involved in tax preparation.
Claire is a senior at the University of Minnesota- Duluth pursuing a Bachelors of Business Administration degree in Finance. She joined North Shore Bank in 2015 as a teller. During the summer of 2017 she completed an internship with North Shore Investments & Trust that focused on exploring current processes with a concentration on operational risk, compliance, and profitability. Claire now works with our operational support team on a part time basis while she finishes school.
