Brenda’s 30+ years of banking experience is merely the tip of the iceberg when you also consider her many professional achievements. In addition to serving as the Bank's Executive Vice President, Brenda oversees North Shore Investments & Trust, North Shore Retirement Solutions Center, North Shore Private Banking, North Shore Insurance, and Information Technology & Innovation. She is a graduate of the University of Washington Electronic Payments Institute, the Minnesota Bankers Commercial Lending School, the University of Wisconsin’s Graduate School of Banking, the Cannon Trust School, the Leadership Duluth program and she is an Accredited ACH Professional (AAP). Brenda has served on a number of non profit boards over the years. She is currently serving on the board of trustees for the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation.
Jeff Cooper joined North Shore Bank in 2004, shortly after graduating from the University of Minnesota-Duluth with a Bachelor of Economics degree. In his current role, as Trust Manager, Jeff brings a strong leadership skillset to the day to day management of the Division. He takes great pride in understanding the needs of each and every one of our clients and inspires a sense of unity within our team. He is a Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA), a graduate of the ABA National Trust and National Graduate Trust School and Accredited Fiduciary Investment Manager (AFIM). Jeff serves on the board of directors for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northland and receives great satisfaction from his participation in the development of our area’s youth.
Jeff started with North Shore Bank in 1984 and has served in various positions within the Trust Division since 1991. As a Vice President and Senior Trust Executive, Jeff's clients, professional associates and team members are continually drawing from his extensive knowledge and background in trust administration. Jeff also serves as the Trust Division Compliance Officer. A graduate of the University of Minnesota-Duluth, the Cannon Trust School, the Cannon Trust Investment School, he is a Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) as well as a Certified Public Accountant -inactive. Jeff has devoted time to numerous non-profit and professional organizations and continues to give his time and talent in many ways to support and enhance our community. Jeff also sings with the Duluth Superior Symphony Chorus.
Jena began her banking career with North Shore as a part time teller back in 1990 and quickly rose to the position of Branch Supervisor. It was her attention to detail and genuine interest in her customers’ financial well-being that made her transition in 1996 to an expanding Investments & Trust division such a natural fit. As Private Banking Manager, Jena is able to tap into her broad range of banking knowledge to give her clients a truly well rounded Wealth Management experience. Jena is a graduate of the University of Minnesota-Duluth, the ABA National Graduate Trust School, and is a Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA). Jena’s commitment to improving our community is evidenced by her involvement in the many non-profit organizations she has served over the years. Currently Jena serves on the Executive Board of the Duluth Superior Eco Rotary.
Pat has been with North Shore for over 40 years and has spent most of her career in Trust Operations. Through the years Pat has acquired a broad and in-depth level of knowledge that is instrumental in the quality of our productivity and efficiency as it relates to system utilization. When opportunities lend her operational background to problem solving for her team members and our clients, she attains one of her greatest levels of job satisfaction. She has served on a number of non profit boards and is currently a member of the Duluth Lions Club.
Prior to joining North Shore Investments & Trust in 2002, Tim’s extensive professional background included serving as an equity analyst for a hedge fund, a trust portfolio manager, and as an economist and futures analyst for the Chicago Board of Trade. Tim is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago, with a Master of Arts degree in Economics and also a graduate of the ABA Trust Graduate School. Tim is proud to say that he works for his clients with only their best interest in mind. Tim devotes time to the Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute and the Duluth Superior Alpine Club. Tim is also an adjunct instructor of Economics and Finance at the University of Minnesota Duluth.
When Karol joined North Shore Investments & Trust in 1996, she brought with her 14 years of Trust and Employee Benefit operations experience. Karol's past experience provided a solid platform that led to her current role of Retirement Planning Executive. Karol is a University of Minnesota-Duluth graduate, is a Certified IRA Services Professional (CISP), and holds a certificate in Retirement Plans. She currently serves on the Rotary Club 25 Board, Depot Foundation Board and the Ecumen Lakeshore Advisory Board. Karol enjoys helping her clients plan for their financial needs both during their working careers and after retirement.
Doug joined North Shore Investments & Trust in 2021, bringing with him over 10 years of research and portfolio management experience. His extensive financial background includes a variety of asset class research, financial analysis and portfolio management. Doug collaborates with North Shore clients and our administrators to facilitate all aspects of investment management. Doug is a graduate of Gonzaga University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Economics with a Master of Arts degree, in Applied Economics, from Georgetown University. Doug has been a Chartered Financial Analyst since 2014.
Samantha joined North Shore Bank in 2004 and has served in a variety of roles including account administration. Her background in personal trusts, conservatorships, estates, IRAs and investment management accounts was a perfect segue into her current role where she is responsible for the operational administrative and client experience. Samantha is a graduate of the Duluth Business University, with an Associates degree in Business Administration. She is a Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) and a graduate of the ABA National Trust School and ABA Graduate Trust School. Samantha serves as Treasurer and board member on the Duluth Edison Charter School Legacy Foundation board and also serves on the St Ann's Residence board.
Matt’s banking career started in 2005, and he joined North Shore Bank in 2007. Since that time, Matt has gained a wealth of knowledge that lends to Matt's success in his current role as a Retirement Planning Executive. Matt is a summa cum laude graduate from The College of St. Scholastica having received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management & Accounting. In 2014, Matt successfully completed Boston University’s Certified Financial Planning Program. Matt provides an exceptional wealth management experience to each of his clients by using his depth of knowledge in all the various Retail, Commercial and Investment services North Shore has to offer. Matt serves on the board of North Country RIDE.
Tim joined North Shore Trust in 2014 and administers personal trusts, investment accounts, guardianships and estates. Prior to joining the Trust Division, Tim held a senior analyst position in commercial lending. He also has experience in corporate tax as a staff accountant for a publicly traded company, and investment and financial planning as a financial advisor. Tim's diverse professional background and introspective approach provide his clients a well rounded financial viewpoint. Tim is a graduate of the University of Minnesota-Duluth, with a Bachelor of Accounting degree and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with emphasis in finance. He is a Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) and a graduate of the Cannon Trust School, as well as a Certified Public Accountant. Tim currently serves on the executive board of the Duluth Playhouse and is a board member of the Arrowhead Estate Planning Council.
Jacob joined North Shore Bank in 2009 and has held various positions within the bank including Retail Banker, Assistant Financial Manager and Trust Operations Risk Manager. His diverse financial background complements his current role as a Private Banking Executive. Jacob is a graduate of the University of Minnesota-Duluth, earning a Bachelor degree in Business Administration. In addition to his current duties as a Private Banking Executive, Jacob is certified as an Accredited ACH Professional (AAP).
Denise is a Certified IRA Professional (CIP) with over 20 years experience in the financial services industry. Denise assists in the administration of a variety of Individual Retirement Accounts. She also has experience assisting with the administration of 401(k) Plans along with investment management accounts. She is instrumental in all of the IRA reporting requirements as well as the day to day operations of account administration.
Aili joined North Shore Bank in 2012 and has since gained a diverse background in a variety of areas including trust administration and the risk management of unique assets. In her current role, as a Trust Administrator, Aili works one on one with clients to simplify and facilitate their trust and estate strategies. Aili is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Superior with a degree in Professional Studies.
Erica joined the North Shore Retirement Solutions Center in 2020 and administers IRA and investment management accounts. Prior to joining North Shore Bank, Erica spent a number of years working with a local energy provider as an analyst. She also brings a robust background in customer service. Erica had an interest in financial planning and aligned her career path to reflect and support this interest. Erica is a graduate from the University of Minnesota – Duluth with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and a focus in Mathematics, and is a Certified IRA Professional (CIP). She enjoys assisting her clients in planning for their financial future.
Vladimir joined North Shore Bank in 2011 and has held various positions from teller to retail loan originator. Vladimir pursued an opportunity and transferred to Investments & Trust in 2017. As an Investment Specialist his responsibilities encompass a wide range of investment related duties including trading, transfers and investments operations. Vladimir is a University of Minnesota-Duluth graduate with a degree in Business Administration with emphasis in management and finance.
Kendra joined North Shore Bank in 2012 as a part time teller. She has been promoted through the ranks and held upward progressive roles including full time teller, customer service rep, full service banker and teller supervisor. Kendra started her current role as a Specialist in the Trust Department in 2020. Her banking background coupled with her attention to detail provide strong operational support to our team.
Jessica joined North Shore in 2018 with nearly 10 years of banking experience. Jessie currently serves as a Specialist sharing her skillset in the Private Banking department. Her responsibilities include assisting clients with their banking needs and helping them attain their financial goals.
Chris began her journey with North Shore in 2020. As a Specialist she shares her knowledge and expertise while providing support to clients and fellow team members. Prior to joining North Shore, Chris worked for a national financial services provider for over 39 years. She has a significant background in banking, trust, estates and IRA's.
Tania has been with North Shore, in various capacities, since 1997, and in her current position she provides support to Private Banking and Investments & Trust client relationships. Because of Tania’s extensive training she is a knowledgeable resource for our clients.
Susan joined North Shore Investments & Trust in 2003 and is one of the first faces to greet you when you walk in the door. Amongst her many duties, she keeps the front office running smoothly and it's apparent that she enjoys interacting with and assisting our clients.
Josh started with North Shore Bank in the spring of 2017 and has held various positions within the bank. Currently, Josh is a Trust Associate with North Shore Investments & Trust and focuses on the operational aspect of facilitating transactions. He previously worked as a Tax Assistant at a local accounting firm where he was involved in tax preparation. Josh is a graduate of the University of Minnesota-Duluth, with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree in Finance.
Alissa joined North Shore Investments & Trust in October of 2019 after previously working in the Retail Banking area. She is responsible for assisting Trust Executives in the administration of personal trusts, estates, investment management accounts, conservatorships, foundations, non-profit accounts and IRA's. Alissa's passion for learning and her diverse background are valued by our clients and her co workers.
