Job Title: Sr. Economist and Investment Specialist

Job Description:

Work closely with portfolio managers and administrators on investment strategies and economic forecasting. The position is responsible for managing the investment actions subject to the account’s investment objective. This includes managing asset allocation, completing and documenting all reviews; and will also provide strategic support to portfolio managers for research on investment and economic conditions and presentation materials. The Senior Economist and Investments role is a key member of the markets and investments teams.

  • Will serve as the primary economist for the bank and analyze all economic data and provide inputs to traders, investors, sales team and others on the impacts this data will have on the markets.
  • Awareness and compliance with various government and regulatory policies, including budgets, monetary policy, deficits, borrowing, interest rate policies, and tracking of economic calendars; as well as analyzing the impacts of such economic policies.
  • Perform account investment management using all available economic resources and in-house portfolio management staff. Provide confident verbal and written communication to clients as it relates to investment management of various accounts types. Stay on top of economic conditions and advise clients and internal team members on economic climate and strategies.
  • Delivery of exceptional customer service, including knowledge of economic indicators, investment management, portfolio positioning, performance drivers, and views on capital markets and the economy.
  • Responsible for determining where improvements can be made for investment area workflow, incorporating economic trends. Align efficient investment operations with customer satisfaction.
  • Provide inputs to various leaders and management on economic policies and impacts to the bank; completes various projects as assigned

Job Requirements:

Master’s Degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Economics, or related field and 6 months experience as economist or financial forecaster.

Financial Analysis
Economic Forecasting
Portfolio management
